- Robert Eidschun was born in the United States, where he spent much of his youth drawing and painting, playing the trumpet, and visualizing images set to a score.
While living in England as a teenager, Robert saw Twelfth Night, thanks to a school outing to nearby Stratford. It was the first "important" play that he had ever attended; and although too young to appreciate much of it, he was motivated to contemplate the power of a script come to life, something he has never stopped doing.
Robert soon began experimenting in drama (at a relatively modest level!), filming a series of skits with his pals. However, he took his music more seriously, ending up at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he studied composition.
After several years of composing, Robert decided to act upon his long-standing desire to create audiovisual works in which music plays a major role, or even the primary one.
Robert has received grants and awards from the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts, the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University, and the Theodore Presser Company.
As of June 2010, Robert is living in western New York State with his wife and their daughter.
