Judith Burton
Judith "Judy" Courson was born on July 4, 1942 to Corky Courson and Pearl Courson née Schmidt.
Her father had been a Navy bombardier (attaining the rank of Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve) before he became a junior high school principal in Villa Park, California. Her mother was a homemaker who did interior design. Judy's maternal grandfather was from Vienna, Austria.
When Judy was 5 years old, her younger sister Pamela Courson was born, on December 22, 1946.
She attended Orange High School in Orange, California.
In the 1960s she dated Hollywood literary agent Michael Hamilburg, who was an agent of The Doors' Jim Morrison, who at that time was dating Judy's sister Pam.
Jim Morrison bought Pam a fashion boutique called Themis in 1969. Judy modeled for the shop and also worked there when Pam was away.
In 1971 Jim Morrison died and left all his wealth to Pam, who was very distressed at his death and resorted to heroin and also started developing mental problems. She died on 25th April 1974 of a heroin overdose, and Morrison's wealth was eventually given over Pam's sister Judy.
Judy was married to Charles Thomas Burton and the couple had two children, Emily Burton and James Burton.
She spent later years working with and fostering rescue Labrador dogs.
