Mischa Rozema

Mischa Rozema (born 1971) is a Dutch film and commercials director. He is the co-founder of Dutch film company, The Panics. The Panics consists of sister brands Post Panic, House of Panic, The Panics Film and Panic Room. The Panics is an internationally respected and awarded team best known for its uncompromising creative ambitions and craft both within the commercial and original content sectors. After studying Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Image & Media Technology, Rozema's love of film drew him into the direction of filmmaking. Following the success of their graduation film, A Time For Panic, he co-founded The Panics alongside producer Jules Tervoort in 1997. Having made his name internationally over 20 years with creatively ambitious commercial work directed for high-profile brands as well as a string of personal projects, Rozema decided to focus more on the longer form film ambitions The Panics had initially set out to do. His philosophical sci-fi feature film idea SUNDAYS managed to successfully start a bidding war between the Hollywood studios resulting in a major film deal for the project. The concept short released in March 2015 and was a defining point in both Rozema and The Panics' development. In 2018, Rozema made commercial headlines again with his branded content short A REPORT OF CONNECTED EVENTS for global television network, Liberty Global. The short has garnered awards and critical acclaim (including the Grand Prix at the Dutch Creativity Awards 2019) for its beautiful take on the power of storytelling. With The Panics Film, Rozema has also stepped into Producer territory alongside his own feature and episodic film projects in production, working to bring other innovative director-driven drama projects to the entertainment industry's attention. He speaks regularly at festivals worldwide (most recently OFFF Festival Vienna Edition) and has been on the jury for Awards including Shots and Dutch Creativity Awards.
