Biography

Rob Kipa-Williams is a New Zealand actor and producer of Māori, Scottish and English heritage. Born in Napier, New Zealand, his Māori tribal affiliations are Ngāti Maru, Ngāti Pāoa, Ngāti Kauwhata and Tūwharetoa.

Over a career spanning more than fifteen years, Rob has worked across film and television in New Zealand, Australia and internationally. His credits include The Dead Lands, Waru, The Brokenwood Mysteries, 800 Words and the long-running Australian series Home and Away, where he played Ari Parata. More recently, he appeared in the feature film Deep Water, directed by Renny Harlin.

Rob has since expanded into producing, with He Kōrihi marking a new chapter in his creative career. His work as a producer has a growing focus on Māori storytelling and bringing elements of Aotearoa New Zealand, its culture and perspective, to films for international audiences.

Outside of film and television, Rob is an entrepreneur and producer of Pacific meditation music. He has collaborated with artists including Moana movie composer Opetaia Foa'i and created HAAAA, a meditation platform incorporating six Pacific languages, with his tracks being available on all major streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.
