Biography

Lance Ito was born on August 2, 1950 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He has been married to Margaret Ann York since August 29, 1981.

Los Angeles County Superior Court judge who presided over the O.J. Simpson murder trial. He is the only one of the trial's major participants whom did not later seek to make money off the case.

In March 1995, Jay Leno parodied Ito on "The Tonight Show" with The Dancing Itos (Nito Larioza, Shutchai Tym Buacharern, Daniel Lee, Hoang Ho, M.G. Gong), choreographed by Mary Ann Kellogg. The response to the gag was so overwhelming, The Itos appeared on Leno over a dozen times before the trial ended.

His wife, Margaret Ann (Peggy) York was police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department from April 1968 to December 2002, where she was the first female Deputy Chief of the LAPD. She retired from the LAPD to become the Police Chief for the Los Angeles County Police from January 2003 to January 2009.
