Iranian-Canadian by descent, Shawn Nova is a Writer, Director and Actor working out of Toronto, Ontario after years of operating out of LaSalle, Quebec, He began his career in theatrical productions, having written and starred in stage adaptations of "The Departed", "Angels in America" and "Glengarry Glen Ross" but has since shifted to TV and Filmmaking.
Shawn's first project "Budz" was a TV Series concept shot on an entirely low budget in Ontario. The pilot "The Cake" was pitched to networks and put Shawn on the map as a writer.
Shawn is now co-owner of A Long Way Down Films with Daniel Shulkin. The production company focuses on empowering Toronto creatives with a keen eye for Auteur cinema.
Shawn's new silent experimental short film "A Beautiful Rush" will be releasing in 2022. He has since released the short arthouse horror titled "Earworm" and "Starved" a short film tackling body dysmorphia and modern dating.
He has since garnered acclaim for his western feature screenplay "Blood and Soil" and his meta horror-comedy "The Final Splice", both of which are in development.
