  • Lawrie Brewster is a Scottish Director and Producer with a penchant for the strange and the macabre. His debut release Lord of Tears was released to critical acclaim winning rave reviews from FEARnet, Bloody Disgusting and Ain't it Cool News. Lawrie s perhaps best known for his work creating the visual landscape for the two Morgan M. Morgansen films which played at Sundance and South By Southwest, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and written by frequent collaborator Sarah Daly.

  • Lawrie Brewster is a Scottish film producer and director known for his work in gothic and independent genre cinema. He is the founder of Hex Studios and the British Horror Studio, where he has overseen the development and production of a slate of horror and dark fantasy features.

    Brewster first gained international attention through his work on the cult short-film series Morgan M. Morgansen, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and written by Sarah Daly. The films screened at both the Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest.

    He made his feature directorial debut with the gothic horror film Lord of Tears (2013), which premiered at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award. His films have frequently premiered at FrightFest and other international genre festivals.

    As a producer, Brewster has developed and overseen numerous independent genre productions including The Unkindness of Ravens (2015), The Black Gloves (2017), The Devil’s Machine (2019) and the anthology For We Are Many (2019).

    Recent projects include the Amicus Productions anthology In the Grip of Terror, the fantasy horror epic The Slave and the Sorcerer, and the epic-length gothic fantasy The Reign of Queen Ginnarra.
