Biography

Martin Melnick is a writer and director in the Pacific Northwest. He has directed commercials, short films, and a Television pilot in partnership with the late Sir David Frost and Red-Europe in London. In 2025 Martin premiered his first feature film "Lilly Lives Alone" with Dark Sky Films.

His primary focus is using genre to convey complex, emotional ideas; living by a quote from playwright Lorraine Hansberry, "It's bad art if it doesn't tell the truth, and fiction demands the truth."

Martin's award winning films have premiered theatrically, in broadcast, and have screened at notable festivals around the world.
