Veselka Kiryakova graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she studied Film Editing. She is an editor of many Bulgarian and international features, shorts and documentary movies. She was part of the production team of "Alienation" (2013), conceived and directed by Milko Lazarov. The premiere of "Alienation" was at Venice'70 in the official selection of Venice Days and it won two awards there. "Ága" (2018), the second movie by the director Milko Lazarov, produced by Veselka Kiryakova, premiered at the Competition during Berlinale 2018 and won more than 40 awards around the world, such as Special Jury Prize at Goa IFF, Shadi Abdel Salam for Best Film at International Film Critics' Week at CAIRO IFF and Grand Prix in Tehran, Cabourg, Chukotka, Heart of Sarajevo, etc.
Veselka is producing "Windless" - the second feature of the promising Bulgarian director Pavel G. Vesnakov (world premiere at Karlovy Vary 2024 Proxima competition); Milko Lazarov's "Tarika" (premiered at BFI London 2024) and Eliza Petkova's "Silent Observers" (premiered at IDFA 2024)
Veselka Kiryakova was part of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE, presented at Cannes in 2018. She participated in the EAVE workshop in 2020. She is a member of EFA.
