- Adam was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampshire College, where he studied both the Philosophy of Language, Middle Eastern Politics, and Identity Politics.
He began working in documentary film with Lawrence Johnson Productions in Portland Oregon. He then moved into the commercial film industry, where he worked on a variety of commercials, industrials, and feature length films in various capacities including grip, script supervisor, editor, producer, and director.
In 1999, he relocated to New York City where he continued freelancing on commercials and documentaries. In 2000 he created his own company, Jigsaw Films, to pursue his interest in producing socially significant films.
His first production was From Prison to Home; a story that followed four African American males for one year after their release from prison. It was an selected to show at the prestigious Big Sky Film Festival and purchased by Films for the Humanities.
Adam's sophomore effort was a little lighter fare entitled 'Adam Blank Gets A Vasectomy'. The film follows him as he mentally, physically and socially prepares to be sterilized.
Adam lives and works in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.
