Biography

Ellen Grimshaw is an award winning actor, known for Jack Irish (2021), Bloom (2019), and From Sent Ash To Dancing Ground (2021), which won 4 awards across internationally acclaimed film festivals.

Ellen was considered for an AACTA for their performance in Jack Irish 'Best Supporting Female Actor in a TV Drama' (2021), won 'Best Supporting Female Actor' for feature film 'Bad Behaviour' at MUFF alongside John Jarrett, and been nominated for many awards in several other film/theatre projects.

Ellen has a Fine Arts Acting degree from QUT and a Masters degree in Writing for Performance from VCA.

Ellen was nominated for a Green Room Award at the 41st annual awards for Best Performer in independent theatre.

Graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in 2009.

Graduated with a Masters in Writing for Performance from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2018.

Ellen has successfully secured a number of highly competitive grant opportunities in order to fund theatre and/or film projects that she wrote/writes.

Ellen is an actor, as well as writer for stage and screen, and who often produces their own material and performs it. Most of Ellen's career to date she has worked as an actor, and continues to perform others writing and productions.
