Jennifer Mary Mears is a New York-based director, SAG-AFTRA actor and Teamsters Local 817 Location Scout. She trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting before expanding into location scouting, where she developed a deep understanding of how environments shape character and narrative.
Her scouting credits include Law & Order: Organized Crime, Billions, Blue Bloods, HBO’s The Wizard of Lies and The Greatest Showman. In 2025 she began scouting on Dick Wolf’s CBS crime drama CIA.
As a director, Jennifer centers stories rooted in family, memory and intergenerational healing. Her music video RAW placed 2nd in the 2025 Made in New York competition and was selected for the Portland Film Festival. Her debut narrative short MAMA, a Harlem-set drama exploring Black sisterhood and inherited trauma, advanced to the Second Round of the 2026 Sundance Institute Development Track.
