- If I hadn't played Jonas Kahnwald [on Dark (2017)], I would have liked to play Helge, because Helge is by far my favorite character. He is such a sad, lonely character and I think that would have been exciting.
- [Interviewer: You're a fan of The Police, I've heard.] Of the pol...?! Oh yeah! [laughs] I thought "the police", as in [the actual police] - I don't know about that one!
- [Early bird or late riser?] I wish I could say I was an early bird, but I do enjoy sleeping in.
- [on other Dark (2017) characters he would have liked to have played] Who doesn't want to be Noah?! Everyone wants to be Noah. Noah wants to be Noah too. I mean, no way Mark Waschke would want to be anybody else.
- I like what has happened with the cinema in Germany in recent years. We are no longer afraid of doing something "wrong". This can be seen in the film Toni Erdmann: on its example, you can see unique German storytelling.
