Ron Richards was record producer famous for working with The Hollies, The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Spencer Davis Group and Del Shannon. He is often credited with discovering The Hollies and produced their smash hit "The Air That I Breathe". He regarded working with Ella Fitzgerald the high point of his career and once got into a heated argument with Phil Spector over a damaged drum kit, blissfully unaware that he carried a gun.
