Biography

Fernando Fraiha is a director, screenwriter and producer. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He started in movies at 25 years old editing social documentaries and working in drama plays as a video artist.

Fernando first feature as a director is 'La Vingança' (El Revenge) (2016), premiered at 2017. The film is a road movie comedy Brasil-Argentina, coproduced by Paris Filmes, Lions Gate and Globo Films.

It had its latin premiere at Rio Film Festival 2016, and it participated at the 40th São Paulo Int'l Film Festival, Punta del Este Film Festival 2017, Cleveland International Film Festival 2017, Chicago Latino Film Festival 2017 and Trondheim Film Festival 2017.

El Revenge also won the Special Jury Mention at the Rencontres du Cinéma Sud - Américain de Marseille 2017, the Best New Director Prize at the 20th edition of Brooklyn Film Festival 2017 and the Best Feature Film award at the VI Festival Internazionale di Cinema Brasiliano 2017.

Fernando is one of the partners at Biônica Filmes.

As a Producer, he had done the the first season of the series "PSI" for HBO Latin America, which was nominated for "Best Drama Series" at the Emmy 2015, the feature film "Os Homens são de Marte.... E é pra lá que eu vou!" (Men are from Mars ... and it's where I'm going!), which had the second biggest box office of 2014 and won the "Best Feature Comedy" award at the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro (The Biggest Award in Brazilian Cinema), in 2015.

He also produced 2016 feature film "Reza a Lenda" (Holy Biker), by Homero Olivetto (a Co-Production with Ouro 21 and Sereno Filmes), winner of Special Jury Prize First Features Competition in 2016 Tallin Black Nights, 2017 "TOC - Transtornada Obsessiva Compulsiva" (Neurotic Quest for Serenity), by Teo Poppovic and Paulinho Caruso, and "Divinas Divas" (Divine Divas), by Leandra Leal (a co-production with Daza Films and Canal Brazil), winner of Audience Award - Global at SXSW South by Southwest Film Festival 2017.
