Dara Frazier is a 2026 NAACP Image Award nominee for her animated short, "Jazzy Bells", starring Hawthorne James, which premiered at the Pan African Film Festival.
Her debut stage play. "Passing", sold out Off-Broadway, toured nationally, and received an AUDELCO Award nomination. Frazier’s work spans film, television, and theater, often centering emotionally grounded stories of identity, resilience, and human complexity.
A member of the Harlem Writers Guild-whose past members include Maya Angelou and Terry McMillan-Frazier has written for television projects developed for Disney and HBO Max. Her original pilot was named a Top 30 semifinalist in BET Project CRE8.
Her directing credits include the drama, "Not Every Woman", starring Omar Gooding, Lodric Collins, and Erica Degraff, and the animated feature, "The Sky Princess", starring Vivica A. Fox and Angell Conwell.
Her latest feature, "Painted and Tainted", starring Ella Joyce, Ciarah Amaani, Nakia Dillard, and Milli M., marks her continued work as writer, director, and producer.
