Biography

Brendan Russo

Mini bio

  • Born and raised in New York City, Brendan Russo is the culmination of a lifetime in theatre, visual arts, music, magic and storytelling.

Drawing from his theatrical and professional magic background, Russo is known for his high-concept worlds and razor sharp dialogue.

Russo spent a passionate lifetime in the theatre arts in his hometown of Brooklyn, performing in countless productions as a singer, actor and musician; conducting his first orchestra at 15 and having his first play ("Greenhouse") performed Off-Off Broadway in 2007.

For his senior thesis film at New York's School of Visual Arts, Russo crowdfunded the 1916 Irish Revolution film "The Headmaster" and coordinated production over two continents with Irish producer Stephen Byrne to produce the Dublin-set period piece. The film went on to be featured as a Special Selection at the Waterford Film Festival.

Russo went on to work in Post Production for clients such as Leblon and Bacardi before securing a teaching and Drama directing role at New York's Xavier High School for a semester.

After moving to Los Angeles, Russo began to increase his range of roles on set while climbing up the ranks, eventually landing a position at Prohbtd Content directing multiple shows and commercial campaigns concurrently. Since then, he has gone onto being one of the founding members of Sorcery Cinema, whose First Project "Vote" was the winner of the M. Night Shyamalan/ Biden-Harris Campaign Vote By Night PSA Contest.

As Head of Studio Productions for Social Club TV, Russo has overseen the expansion of production to include the Emerald Cup Awards - the Oscars of Cannabis - as well as multiple successful TV shows, music videos and ad campaigns.
