Richard was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Raised in a suburb of St.
Louis, nearby St. Charles, Richard attended Francis Howell High School
followed by four years studying at the University of Missouri-Columbia
with a major in pre-veterinary medicine and animal sciences. In 2000,
Richard moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He spent the first several
years acting in short films, performing in theater and writing screenplays.
In 2014, Richard directed for the first time; a film in which he also wrote and starred.
