Biography

Alan was born and raised in central Massachusetts. He started his love of the arts with a passion for music which soon spread to acting. Alan has participated in many community theater productions as both a performer and occasionally as a director. Alan joined the United States Marine Corps when he was 17 years old. Alan was the Honor Graduate for his basic training platoon and also received a Meritorious Mast and several other personal awards in his subsequent training and service. Alan served proudly all across the United States as well as overseas.

Alan attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California where he learned to speak Korean fluently as well as just enough of several other languages to get himself into trouble. After his time in the Marine Corps Alan received his degree in Psychology and went on to complete the coursework for his MA and PhD in just over 2 years (although he never finished those degrees for personal reasons). While attending graduate school in Honolulu, HI Alan had the good fortune to study under renowned actor/direct Glenn Cannon. Alan further refined his craft by working with Chris Haverstick and "One Take Bandit Productions" on several independent films which were submitted to the monthly 24 hour film festival "Showdown in Chinatown" and can also be viewed on YouTube under "chstick".

In addition to his recreational performances, Alan earned his Screen Actors Guild eligibility by performing as background in several episodes of Lost. Alan also enjoyed the opportunity to work as a body double for M.C. Gainey in Lost Season 3, Episode 22: Through the Looking Glass. Alan finished his time in Hawaii working under the direction of Fred Vanderpoel.

Alan living with his wife and family in Massachusetts where he is hoping to find more opportunities to perform and expand his body of work.
