Biography

Graham was born in Chatham, Kent, (UK). He graduated from The University of Warwick where he studied Engineering Science. He was attracted to a life in theatre after being cast in several roles in his school production of 1066 And All That. He was studying Physics and Mathematics at A Level as the subject of Drama was not taught at his school. At age 19 Graham performed as Fred in Present Laughter by Noel Coward for a drama society but then left to attend his studies. He engaged in many productions at university, mainly on the technical side including lighting, but did appear in A Marriage Has Been Arranged by Alfred Sutro before directing Gas Light by Patrick Hamilton.

His first foray into film acting came when he appeared in a short film called Coffee for Two directed by Simon Wake of The Glow Production Company followed by the full length film,10 Fish by Jim Spilling for Immediate Productions. Meanwhile he was asked to do several roles for an amateur company including Vezinet in The Italian Straw Hat, The Red King in Wonderland, Brasset in Caught on the Hop, Lord Battersby in Me and My Girl, Bruno Liszt in The Birds Stopped Singing and Arvide in Guys and Dolls. These performances were followed by many other roles including Otto Frank in The Diary of Ann Frank, Arthur Birling in An Inspector Calls, Thomas More in A Man for All Seasons, Charles Stanton in Dangerous Corner and the Rev. Samuel Parris in The Crucible. Amongst his many other stage performances he played Dr. Richard Forth in Prescription for Murder and Andrew Perryman in Swan Song both by Norman Robbins and Charles Youngman Brown in Cobbold's Tales by Sue Heaser, all believed to be World Premiere productions. In 2025 Graham performed the role of Eric in Art Deco, a short play which he wrote.

In corporate and film he took the role of Patient in an OU teaching video followed by Frank in The Bench by Tom Dunn for The Glow Production Company, Rhyddian in Sole Desire, Salvatori in Lievitare, the Farmer in Piskies There Be, Stan in Switch, and then Rupert Greenslade in Of Blood and Water for Fireapple Films. More short films followed including the Doctor in Daisy for Round One Films, Alec in Keepsake for Innervision Films and the Scholar in Dagon. Graham was a supporting cast member for the film Dartmoor Cowboy.

He has performed many more roles in films and on stage but recently has concentrated on writing plays and scripts for short films, many of which he has directed.

Graham was a founder member of Patterns Theatre Company and of Next Generation Theatre Company. He is an experienced director and also has experience as a gaffer for short films. Graham is a Bachelor of Science, Diplomate of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
