Lukas Hanulak is a Slovak-Canadian film and television director and producer. A graduate in directing, he has helmed acclaimed series for Czech and Slovak broadcasters since 2009, including Odsúdené, Specialisté, Dáma a Král, and Záhadné prípady. Most recently, he directed and co-produced the political thriller Moloch (Canal+ Original, 2025), filmed in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
In 2022, Hanulak made his English-language debut with the short drama Empty Spaces, which earned multiple festival honors and was selected for the 29th Victoria International Film Festival (Canada). As a screenwriter, he contributed to the documentary Good Death (2019), an incisive exploration of assisted dying that received several awards and screened at international television markets.
Lukas Hanulak is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada. He divides his time between Montreal and Prague.
