Melanie Denholme has attended Bournemouth College and London's Met Film School, where she studied acting for film. She has performed in pantomime and theatre (winning a best actress award for her role as Cecily in "The Importance of being Earnest"), she sings baritone and she plays violin. She can do a variety of British accents and play a New York American. Her personal interests include writing, swimming, horse riding, cycling, roller skating, improvisation and athletics. She loves performing comedy and she adores vampire films. She has a daughter called Summer Rose.

Scream queen Killer was a fantastic concept and some of my best acting to date (I hope others will agree). It's a very strange film and won't be everyone's cup of tea but I'm looking at it from a performance point of view and this was the first film I have watched myself in and not hidden behind a cushion.
Open your boundaries and your mind to roles you never thought you would do or want to do, try anything and everything to find your speciality you will probably surprise yourself. Oh and push push push, even if you have an agent the best agent you will ever have is you. No one wants it more than you so no one will work as hard for you than you!
The hardest film was One hour to Die, a film completely improvised and shot in one long take, a test for any actor I can tell you! The Dark Watchers was a great experience with some awesome actresses, not my best work but again the stunts we did such as lying in an ice cold rock pool on a rocky beach playing dead in the middle of November and being painted head to toe in black latex paint was amazingly thrilling and definitely fed my adrenaline addiction!
I absolutely love comedic roles but at the same time the roles I have had in my horror films have really pushed me as an actress, Lady of the Dark was the first film that tested my boundaries, it involved a lot of research and realism, and how do you find realism in a film where you're a man-eating vampire on heat.
