Javaris Crittenton was born on December 31, 1987 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

19th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA draft out of Georgia Tech.

Arrested on 29 August 2011, and charged with killing Julian Jones, a 22-year-old mother of four, in a drive-by 10 days earlier in Atlanta, Georgia. Police allege that Crittenton was actually shooting at a man Jones was walking with whom he thought had stolen jewelry from him. He has denied any involvement.

Waived by the Charlotte Bobcats. Crittenton missed all of last season due to ankle surgery.
