That said, he works and writes across multiple genres, drama, comedy, and horror. His recent multi award winning feature film, NUMB, which was set in Tulsa, OK, was a hard hitting drama.
Cai also quotes Jia Zhangke, Ozu, Tarkovsky, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Tsai Ming-Liang, and Kelly Reichardt as inspirations for his Art House films.
