Sarita West (Siegel) established Alchemy Films in San Francisco in 1994. Sarita spent several years assistant art directing on music videos at Crash Films and undertaking additional screenwriting and continuity on the feature film, 'Shadow of The Pepper Tree' (1996). Sarita wrote, directed and produced two short fiction films 'Destroying Angel' and 'The Beloved'.

In 2002 Sarita wrote, directed and produced the natural history film, 'The Disenchanted Forest', which was licensed to National Geographic Channels, ARTE France and Discovery Canada and won recognition at Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.

Sarita co-produced and assisted on Alchemy Film's documentaries, 'The Split Horn' (2002) and 'The Real Dirt on Farmer John' (finished as a Collective Eye Film).

In 2010 after relocating to the UK, Sarita produced, directed and edited the social documentary 'Fire Burn Babylon' (2010). FBB is a cross-cultural documentary that tells the story of three Rastafarian friends who leave their rural retreat and resettle in London when a volcanic eruption devastates the Caribbean island of Montserrat.

During the last decade, Sarita has produced, directed and written natural history films, 'Exiles and Outlaws'(2014), 'In The Shadow of Ebola' (2015) for PBS, and 'The Land Beneath Our Feet' (2017) for the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Sarita has made several short films on medical subjects for N.H.S. Barts Health, London and the London Breast Network. In 2020 Sarita was granted access to the co-chairs of the WHO convened Independent Panel to make a film on inequity in global health.

Alchemy Films is in post-production on 'Outspoken', a feature documentary that highlights social justice rappers who step up to the mic to demand change around the world. Sarita is in development on 'Power As Pathology' and short fiction 'The Finder's Fee'.
