Juan Arredondo(I)

Juan Arredondo is a Colombian-American filmmaker, documentary cinematographer, and photojournalist whose work explores human rights, migration, and armed conflict across Latin America, Ukraine, and the United States. Over the past decade, he has reported from some of the world’s most complex and volatile regions, focusing on the lived experiences of individuals navigating violence, displacement, and resilience. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times and National Geographic, and his work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, and other leading international publications. His visual storytelling has also been broadcast on major platforms including ESPN, PBS, and HBO.

His work has been recognized with some of the highest honors in journalism and documentary storytelling, including a World Press Photo Award, an Overseas Press Club Award, and the International Committee of the Red Cross Humanitarian Visa d’Or Award, among others. His films and photographic projects are noted for their depth, intimacy, and commitment to ethical storytelling. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Documentary as a producer of Armed Only with a Camera: The Life and Death of Brent Renaud.
