Radu Lupu was born on 30 November 1945 in Galati, Romania. He was married to Delia Bugarin and Elizabeth Wilson. He died on 17 April 2022 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2016 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to music. He is a pianist in London, England.
