Amel Tresnjic is a versatile filmmaker, animator, and educator known for crafting inspirational documentary films with a compelling ethical narrative. He channels his artistic vision into creating impactful stories that aim to uplift and contribute positively to society. Amel's approach involves producing films with a strong moral compass, highlighting individuals and narratives that make a meaningful difference in the world. His works serve as a catalyst for education, empowerment, and inspiration among audiences.

Although born in Bosnia, Amel was raised in Germany and Australia as his family was forced to escape the 1992 genocide in Bosnia. His love for film-making ignited in his early years. Starting at the age of nine, he developed a tradition of watching films every night until he fell asleep, imagining how he would grow up to become a captivating storyteller.

In 2012, Amel saw his dream come to fruition with the international success of his first entirely self-produced documentary film, "2012 Crossing Over: A New Beginning." This feature-length documentary takes viewers on an enigmatic journey, offering a profound perspective on our world's current state and the emergence of a new wave of consciousness. Upon its free release on YouTube, the film quickly went viral, amassing over 4 million views to date. Garnering a remarkable 90% approval rating and receiving countless positive comments, the film deeply resonated with audiences worldwide, touching the hearts of many. It earned an Honour Award for "New Age of Activism 2012 and Beyond," garnered top-notch 5-star reviews, achieved an 8/10 rating on IMDB, and received high ratings on various documentary hosting platforms. The film's uplifting message inspired a dedicated fan base to organize numerous screenings globally and translate the film into 9 languages. While the film attracted three distribution offers, what mattered most to Amel was its ability to catalyze positive change in the world.

Amel is also the sole creator of multi-award-winning feature educational film 'Singfest: The Literacy of Music.' The film recently finished its successful 2 year distribution on Network SBS and is now available free on its forever home YouTube.

His next film 'Giving Back: Students who Returned as Teachers,' a heart-warming film which tells the story of students who became teachers and returned to their former primary school to 'give back' and make a difference to following generations. The 79min feature documentary wrapped up its festival circuit, collecting an impressive 24 Film Festival Awards. The film was also awarded with distribution and is currently streaming on Network SBS and SBS on Demand in Australia.

Amel's latest documentary, Unlocking The Potential: The Vital Role of Specialist Education, is currently making waves on the film festival circuit and has already won 19 international awards. This compelling feature documentary highlights the life-changing impact of specialist education and reveals how unlocking human potential can transform not only individual lives, but the very fabric of our society. Through his passionate and busy work ethic Amel creates projects for his wide-ranging clientele while still working on personal projects that are close to his heart. Though busy making films, Amel still finds time to teach young filmmakers the art and influence of cinema. He wishes to inspire more storytellers in the world and dedicates much of his time teaching and coordinating the Cert IV in Screen and Media at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.

Amel is currently in the making of his highly anticipated feature documentary films entitled 'Spiritual Awakening: Journey to the Inner Self' and also a more personal documentary about his life. A journey through memory, loss, identity, and healing. Even as a busy, successful filmmaker and teacher, Amel still keeps the comforting ritual of drifting off to sleep with movies.

To me one of the greatest awards is to know that something that I have created with the intention to help others is in fact helping others and to know that, is absolutely inspiring.

Self-education is the key. I am always curious to learn new things, not just how to be a director but also how to use the camera, how to use lights, how to do the editing and how to do visual effects. Combining all these things together gives a much greater perspective on the things that you can do with film.

I never identified with any of the religions. I always wanted to go on a mission to find out for myself and that's one of the factors that attracted me to spirituality. When you are born into this world and you look around for the meaning of life, people from everywhere want to give you various books that supposedly hold the answers. You stop and ask yourself which one is right? Well, I think the right answer is within. The deeper you look within, the clearer things will become. Everything external is based on someone else's perceptions, belief systems and truth. I think the best truth one can look for is the truth within.

Through the art of film, my aim is to make a positive contribution to society. My method is to produce films of a conscious and moral nature. Films featuring stories of people who are making a difference in the world. Films that educate, empower, and inspire audiences. Your support is the key to being able to make such films a reality.
