Biography

Tyler is an LA-based writer-director-producer, and a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. As a writer-director, Tyler's credits include SEE YOU SOON (Outfest '20, BFI Flare '20, Short of the Week) and HOW I GOT TO THE MOON BY SUBWAY, which won Best Narrative Short at the 2019 Walla Walla Movie Crush. As a producer, Tyler's credits include LAVENDER (Sundance '19, SXSW '19, Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere), which was acquired by Searchlight Pictures, as well as THE MESS HE MADE (SXSW '17, Short of the Week). Tyler is an alumnus of the Tribeca Film Institute's All Access Program, Sundance Ignite Fellowship, and the Jacob Burns Film Center's Creative Culture Fellowship. Currently, Tyler is developing his first feature film YOU CANNOT ERASE ME, for which his screenplay is a 2020 Academy Nicholl Semifinalist.

Tyler Rabinowitz is a writer, director, producer, and Chief Creative Officer of Turtle Run Entertainment. He is the Executive Producer and Co-Creator of "Outlaws," a weekly podcast hosted by TS Madison on iHeartMedia's Outspoken Podcast Network. Co-produced by Turtle Run Entertainment and iHeartPodcasts, the show features candid conversations with cultural icons-including Tina Knowles, Chappell Roan, and Laverne Cox-who shed their armor and own their stories.

A graduate of NYU Tisch, Rabinowitz has called nearly 25 addresses home-from Florida to New York to California-an ever-shifting backdrop that informs his fascination with belonging in both literal and emotional terms. His storytelling is rooted in queer longing, painterly visuals, and grounded emotionality, often navigating grey areas in search of deeper human truths.

As a producer, his credits include "Lavender," which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures, and "The Mess He Made," which debuted at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival. He also produced Chappell Roan's first music video for her debut single, "Good Hurt."

As a writer-director, his work includes "See You Soon," a queer romance starring James Cusati-Moyer and Johnny Beauchamp. The film screened at Outfest, BFI Flare, and the New Orleans Film Festival, earning a Special Jury Mention at NewFest and an Audience Pick at Palm Springs International ShortFest. It later premiered on Short of the Week, was named a Vimeo Staff Pick, and included in NoBudge's Top 10 Short Films of 2020. Additional directing credits include "Catalina" (Short of the Week), "How I Got to the Moon by Subway" (Vimeo Staff Pick), and "Alientologists" (National Board of Review's Marion Carter Green Award).

His work has been supported by the Sundance Institute (Ignite Fellowship, Artist Talent Forum, Creative Producing Summit), Tribeca Film Institute, the Academy Nicholl Fellowship (2020 Semifinalist), Jacob Burns Film Center, and Inside Out's Film Finance Forum. In 2011, he received the Presidential Scholar in the Arts medallion from the U.S. Department of Education.

As of 2025, Rabinowitz is developing his first narrative feature film as a director. Across all formats and platforms, his goal is to create storytelling experiences that are as entertaining as they are meaningful, contributing to the conversations of our time.
