    March 7, 1988 · Teruel, Aragón, Spain

Mini bio

  • Guillermo Chapa graduated in film directing from ECAM (Madrid school of cinema), and then took several mono-graphic courses: feature film script-writing with Rodrigo Sorogoyen, also at ECAM, Cinema and New Technologies with L.M. Kit Carsson... After leaving school, although he directed several fiction short films that were widely screened at national and international festivals, such as "La Familia de mi novia", "Biodiversidad" and "Le Monteur", micro-theatre and small advertising campaigns, he focused his professional career on assistant directing for 10 years, working in the teams of this department on different productions such as "Velvet", "Las Chicas del Cable", "Fariña" and "La Estrella Azul", among others. In 2020, he was selected from more than 1,000 candidates for the second edition of the Film Academy's Residency Programme, where he developed the miniseries "Operación Viridiana" and focused his work on screenwriting. He began working at Kubik Films as a creative producer in project development alongside Jorge and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo, and is part of the script-writing team for their latest series Nos vemos en otra vida, for Disney+. Thanks to this, Guillermo has been nominated for Best Series Screenplay at the 2025 Feroz Awards, the 2024 InStyle Awards and the 2025 ALMA Awards, alongside his teammates. In 2025, he premiered his documentary film for RTVE, Voladura 76, and also received funding from the Ministry of Culture to write his next feature film script.
