Sara Sophie Hartinger was born 1986 in Steyr, Austria. Her parents moved to South Africa when she was 8 months old.
She went to primary school at the Deutsche Schule Pretoria (Gauteng) and high school at Uplands College (Mpumalanga), where she grew up on a farm and learned to love the bush and outdoors.
After a cultural exchange year in Brazil through Rotary, she studied Film at the African Film and Academy (AFDA) in Cape Town and graduated in 2009.
Her first job was as an Art Department Researcher on the feature film "Invictus", directed by Clint Eastwood.
Since then her thirst to expand her knowledge about the world through film and art has landed her to work on projects ranging from Music Videos, Short Films, live Sport Broadcasting, Commercials, TV Series to Feature Films, all with a variety of genres - Period, Contemporary and Sci-Fi.
One of her favorite memories is being on set with Sir Ridley Scott on "Raised by Wolves", observing his awe inspiring creative process.
Sara speaks German, English, basic Afrikaans and elementary Portuguese.
