  • Otavio Chamorro (1985) is a Brazilian screenwriter and director who has a Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual at University of Brasilia. In television, he has written and directed various show for channels like MTV, HBO, Globoplay, Arte 1, Paramount, Canal Brasil, Star+, Canal Futura, CNN Internacional, among others.

    In the past years, he has written for the hit shows Rensga Hits! (Globoplay melodramedy, 2022), Dois Tempos (Star+ dramedy, premiere announced), Vizinhos (Canal Brasil, in production) and other comedy shows for premium streaming platforms (in confidentiality). He co-created and wrote other documentary series, such as the reality doc Deu Positivo (2020-2022, MTV/Globoplay), Turma da Robótica (Canal Futura, three seasons) and directed and co-wrote the reality show Arte na Fotografia - 4ª Temporada (Arte 1, 2020) and the documentary series Arte na Tecnologia (Arte 1, 2021).

    He has interest, focus and social participation in LGBTQ+ matters. Altogether, his three comedy queer short films, with characters and themes of sexual and gender diversity, have already been shown on five continents, in more than a hundred festivals, having received several awards for script, direction, editing, art direction and acting. His work has already been acclaimed with some awards from the Mix Brasil Festival (Brazil's main LGBTQIA+ festival).

    In addition to his career in cinema, Otavio has already written and directed advertising films, branded entertainment content and institutional videos for lots of clients. He is vice president (2021-2022) of ABRA - Brazilian Association of Screenwriters.
