Chelsea Staebell

For as long as Chelsea can remember, her life has revolved around clothing. It all began in Denver, Colorado, where she spent weekends digging through garage sales and bargain bins, searching for hidden treasures and discovering new ways to express herself through fashion. The challenge of creating a unique look on a budget sparked a lifelong love of style and storytelling through clothing. As she grew, so did her passion for fashion. After attending the University of Hawaii, Chelsea moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at FIDM, determined to turn that passion into a career. Her journey into the industry began with a chance encounter during Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2008. What started as a conversation with a stylist led to an internship on a television show, her first big break. That opportunity quickly evolved into years of hands-on experience, laying the foundation for a career that would span film, television, commercials, live events, and touring. Eighteen years later, Chelsea has worked across a wide range of productions, from Marvel and DC superhero films to acclaimed television series, including projects with Ryan Murphy. Her work on the Super Bowl Halftime Show opened the door to some of the largest live productions in the world, allowing her to bring cinematic storytelling to massive global stages. Whether designing for scripted entertainment, live performances, or large-scale events, Chelsea is drawn to the collaborative nature of the creative process. She believes great costume design is about more than clothing, it's about character, storytelling, and helping bring a vision to life. Working alongside talented artists, directors, producers, performers, and craftspeople continues to inspire her and fuels her passion for creating memorable visual worlds.
