Paulo Camargo is a Brazilian film director, writer, actor and educator. Over more than 15 years producing low-budget independent films, he became one of the most awarded filmmakers in the world. His best-known works are: O Despertar do Tietê (2020), Vidas Periféricas, Chamas Gêmeas (2023) and Surpresa de Paulo Camargo (2025)
In 2014, he founded a film production company called Paulo Camargo, producing films with local sponsorship and notices, taking on the roles of director, screenwriter and producer. He is also the author of books, most of which have been adapted for cinema.
