Biography

Renes Antonio Rivera was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Susan Rosado, who worked multiple fast-food management jobs to support the family, and Porfirio Rivera, a construction worker specializing in flooring. Of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, Renes studied Criminal Justice at Long Island University before pursuing a career in entertainment.

A former football player and wrestler, Renes worked nightclub security and as a celebrity bodyguard in his early twenties before making his acting debut as "Armando" in Acting Criminal.

In 2011, Renes co-founded Threshold Films alongside Zachary and Brennan Karem, producing short films including 7 Minutes and Selected. He later expanded into big-and-tall modeling.

Renes is among the few actors to appear in both the 20th Century Fox Marvel universe and Marvel Studios productions, portraying "Bulk" in The Gifted and "Lennox" in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He has also appeared in The Rookie, The Righteous Gemstones, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Search Party.

Renes is one the handful of actors to have made an appearance in FOX's marvel universe and the MCU. He has also made appearances in the DC universe with his roles in "Gotham" and "Preacher". "Preacher" is an American comic book series published by Vertigo, an imprint of DC Comics.
