Francis Mead

Writer/Director Francis Mead is a former BBC journalist and a documentary filmmaker for the UN. He's filmed in many locations, including Iraq, Gaza, Russia, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Haiti, Central African Republic, Kenya, Somalia, Syria and Sri Lanka. He survived the terror bombing of the UN's Iraq headquarters in 2003 and subsequently made "Poison Chalice" a documentary about the lives of humanitarian workers in Iraq. He had directed two short dramas "Fire Island," about a couple who can't decide whether to have children, and "Anjali" a story about the stigma surrounding TB, filmed in Delhi, India. He's also the author of several historical novels with a science theme - focusing on Newton, Alan Turing and Einstein.
