Monica Azevedo was born in Belo Horizonte, the Capital of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. Although graduated in Journalism in 1990 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, she has worked in several short films in her country and in the U.S. mostly as a screenwriter, director, producer and editor. She studied Film Directing at UCLA Extension and Entertainment Technology in Santa Monica College, in California. She is now back to her home country and she is working on her first drama series.
