  • Montreal-born, California-based film director, cinematographer, costumer and photographer. Marie-Michele's career began with dance films ("Grey Matter"), surrealist narratives ("Desert Haiku"), film-poems ("Ashes to Light"), branded fashion ("KazakMTL") and documentary (Dennis Banks' "The Drum Will Never Stop"). In 2019, she released a television pilot in the festival circuit ("Women of the West"), a period drama based on the true story of the woman who opened the first costume house in the West. In fall 2022, she wrote a pilot and directed a proof-of-concept for a new television series ("Witches of New York") and produced visuals for Japanese artist Kirilola for her Tokyo concert of "White Tiger" in December 2022. Marie-Michele was a featured artist at the International Symposium of Electronic Arts, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and has screened at film festivals worldwide. Awards include 'Best female director', 'Best Cinematography', 'Best Series Pilot' and a nomination for 'Best featurette' for her period drama 'Women of the West', 'Best music film' (Tracce Cinematografiche, Italy) and 'Best Cinematography' (Arte Non Stop, Buenos Aires) for her short 'Helix'. Her work can be found at the NYU Film and Video center, the Smithsonian, the Cinema Guild and has been licensed by A+J and Vice Media.
