Joan Lambur

Biography

  • As President of Lambur Productions Inc., Joan Lambur has an extensive history of creating and producing globally successful programming. Since launching the company in September of 2017, Lambur Productions has worked with top tier talent to develop and produce iconic titles. The company has completed production of Season 1 of The Hardy Boys, a 13 x one-hour dramatic series with Corus Media (YTV) and Hulu, based on the universally beloved mystery book series.

In addition to proprietary projects, the company has also acquired the rights to best-selling author Sophie Kinsella's Fairy Mom & Me book series and is in active development on a series of television movies. Most recently, Lambur acquired the rights to Farley Mowat's Lost in the Barrens novel.

Prior to the launch of Lambur Productions, Lambur served as the Executive Vice President of Family Entertainment at Breakthrough Entertainment, where her responsibilities included acquisitions, creative development and financing of premium animation, kids' live-action and family programming as well as overseeing all licensing and merchandising activities for the studio's extensive catalogue.

Notable projects include Star Falls (Nickelodeon, YTV) Max & Shred (Nickelodeon, YTV), Ride (Nickelodeon, YTV), and L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables (PBS, YTV).

Prior to working at Breakthrough, Joan founded Lambur & Associates, a Toronto-based television development, distribution, and brand management company specializing in children's and family programming.

Before founding L&A, Joan was President of OnScreen Entertainment for New York-based production company The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company (Teletubbies) where she managed the company's entertainment divisions including international television distribution, television and film acquisitions, development, and presales.
