Leena Minifie is an award-winning producer, director, and journalist with over 25 years of experience across documentary, television, investigative journalism, and impact-driven media. Based in Vancouver, she is the founder of Stories First Productions, an independent company dedicated to advancing BIPOC-led narratives for Indigenous and settler audiences. Known for pairing rigorous journalism with cinematic storytelling, she brings a strategic and socially engaged lens to every project. Her producing credits include Bones of Crows, Lily Gladstone: Far Out There, British Columbia: An Untold History, The Reckoning: Secrets Unearthed by Tk’emlups te Secwepemc, the interactive project Sense of Home, and The Good Canadian, co-directed with David Paperny. Her work has earned multiple Leo Awards and over a dozen Canadian Screen Award nominations. She has served on the CSA jury and the Documentary Producers Alliance, was named a 2024 Reelworld Trailblazer, and received the 2025 CMPA Kevin Tierney Award.
