Biography

Christalyn Hampton is an award-winning director and producer whose work amplifies culturally significant stories with depth, rigor, and emotional resonance. She made her directorial debut co-directing HBO Max’s Oscar-nominated film The Devil Is Busy, alongside acclaimed filmmaker Geeta Gandbhir. Hampton’s producing credits include The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks (Peacock / Soledad O’Brien Productions), which earned her a Peabody Award, a Gracie Award, and Television Academy Honors. Additional projects include the four-part Paramount+ docuseries Born in Synanon; Free Joan Little (Promised Land Film and Retro Report); the feature documentary Rise and Rebuild: A Tale of Three Cities (One Story Up and Tribeca Studios); and Maxine Baby: The Tyler Perry Story for Amazon Prime. She also directed a six-part documentary series for South Florida PBS.
