  • Devon Hawkes Ludlow is an Emmy winning puppeteer and designer, and an award winning director, writer, editor and composer.

    Originally a dancer, Devon studied puppetry with Emmy-award winner Tim Giugni, later studying with various puppetry ensembles in Bulgaria and Brazil. He worked as part of the downtown NYC theatre scene, performing with 00’s indie darling, Jollyship the Whizbang and was co-organizer and founder of the New York City International Clown Theatre Festival, along the way working with amazing talents such as Julie Taymor (Lion King, Across The Universe) and John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch).

    Ludlow's first feature, the punk puppet musical 'The Love That Would Not Die' won multiple awards, including the Int'l Seattle Film Festival, The Fright Night Int'l Film Festival, and Madrid Film Festival, including Best Rogue Film, Best Horror Comedy, Best Screenplay, and more. He worked as production designer and puppeteer for a series of upcoming George RR Martin films as well as multiple music videos and short films. He won an Emmy for his performance as the blue alien Alax on ‘The Early Show With Alax’. Since 2009 he has been a guest artist, puppeteer, writer and performer with artistic sensation Meow Wolf, creating original installations and performances for the House of Eternal Return as well as independent MW projects. He is also an irregular guest on the Tomorrow! Show with Ron Lynch in LA.

    Besides film and stage, Ludlow is the driving force behind the independent film and theatre company the Human Beast Box.
