Cristian Patanè was born in Avola, Sicily.
At seventeen, he directed "Le Notti Bianche", a 35mm short film loosely based on Dostoevsky: it was selected for the Giffoni Film Festival and won first prizes.
From 2016 to 2022, he chose to take a break from directing to work as a production assistant and assistant director to Piero Messina on sets such as "Suburra", "L'Ora", and "Another End".
In 2022, he won the 37th edition of the Solinas Award, the Claudia Sbarigia Prize for talent in portraying female characters.
