  • Elizabeth Knowelden is a British-American actress, singer and director. Born and raised in London, she trained professionally at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy Of Dramatic Art.

    After graduating she started working extensively in British theatre, in both comedic and dramatic roles. Royal national tours - Hermia in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for the Queen at Balmoral and Windsor, and as a soprano soloist at the Royal Albert Hall. Stage credits include London's Theatre Royal Haymarket - "Betrayal" dir: Samuel West, the critically acclaimed leading role of Eileen Finney in the West Coast premiere of the "The English Bride", and heroin escapee Lizzie MacIntosh in "Trainspotting".

    In film, she is known for her work on "The Thursday Murder Club" - directed by: Chris Columbus / Stephen Spielberg, "Mufasa" - dir: Barry Jenkins, "Hotbot" - dir: Michael Polish, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" - dir: Espen Sandberg. Her role in the comedy feature film "Last Man(s) On Earth" was specifically rewritten for her comedic ability and largely expanded after director Aaron Hultgren saw her audition - the role originally written for a male actor - and premiered at the Austin Film Festival.

    Elizabeth is known for bringing characters, and worlds, alive with her voice. She is the voice of Cruella De Vil for Disney audio productions, and the recipient of multiple Audie Awards, Earphones Excellence Awards and New York Times Bestseller recognition for bringing words to life as an actor and director in both audiobook and audio drama.

    Elizabeth is a BBC company member for radio plays, playing Arabella opposite Rufus Sewell in "Sweeney Todd", Madeline Bassett in the all star production of "Stiff Upper Lip Jeeves", alongside Joanna Lumley, Michael York and James Callis. Additional credits include Agatha in "Lady Windermere's Fan with Mira Sorvino, and Mrs Lamstad in "Enemy of the People" with Alfred Molina.
