As a director, Christopher Newman draws inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, the pursuit of social justice, and the uncelebrated heroes among us quietly making a difference. His background in documentary informs his style, which focuses on creating genuine and emotional connections between his audience and the stories he tells. Over the years, Christopher has developed a nuanced approach to shooting impactful campaigns alongside global brands and agencies. He produced the award-winning Netflix film, Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa-a documentary project he conceived and served as 2nd-Unit Director, overseeing the direction of many on-location scenes across the project in the US, Everest basecamp, and Nepal. In his free time, Christopher enjoys exploring the nooks and crannies of the northern California coast with his family, surfboard, and camera in tow.
