Biography

Kim Albright is a Canadian/British/Filipina writer/director. She began her career in the UK, directing short films, music videos, and commercials and is an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre Director's Lab (2018). Kim is known for With Love and a Major Organ (2023), The Purple Plain (2016) and Edward's Turmoil (2009).

'Edward's Turmoil' screened at Encounters Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, Wisconsin Film Festival, InterBerlin Film Festival, Independent British Film Festival, Brussels Short Film Festival, and Prague Short Film Festival.

'Dragonfly' screened at BFI London Film Festival, Brest Film Festival, and BFI 'Upshot' Festival showcase of New British Talent.

The young lead of 'Edward's Turmoil' Raphael Coleman won Young Actor Award at the Independent British Film Festival, and Best Young Actor Award at the Brussels Short Film Festival.

'Albatross' screened at BFI London Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, East End Film Festival, Aesthetics Film Festival, and was features in the File Magazine May Issue.

'Dragonfly', 'Albatross', and 'Edward's Turmoil' received funding from Film London/UK Film Council. 'The Purple Plain' received funding from the British Film Institute.
