- Malcolm Marshall was born on April 18, 1958 in St. Michael, Barbados. He was an actor, known for Kabhi Ajnabi Thé (1985), Wisden Trophy (1963) and Silk Cut Cricket Challenge (1984). He died on November 4, 1999 in Bridgetown, Barbados.

- When he died prematurely aged just 41, ESPN Cricinfo in its obituary wrote "In an era of great West Indian fast bowlers, he was the greatest. He bowled superbly on wickets the world over. Brutally fast and ruthlessly accurate, Marshall is unarguably one of the greatest cricketers of all-time".
- Dismissed two of the greatest batsmen of his generation, namely India's Sunil Gavaskar(ten times) and Australia's Allan Border(eleven times), a combined 21 times. However, he also regarded Border as the best batsman he witnessed.
- At a time when the West Indies Team dominated world cricket, courtesy of their longline of brilliant fast bowlers, Marshall was undisputedly the best of them all.
