Biography

Born in London (Canada), to Italian parents, an Argentinian grandfather, and a Spanish godmother, award-nominated actor Jordan Charles' disparate background has fueled a passion for acting. It began early: in Canada, he started acting on stage in local Italian productions when he was a few years old. He was later theatrically cast as Matthew Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables while only twelve years old, playing the elder father of the protagonist Anne.

Jordan's commitment to acting and its craft sees him embody textured characters in ranging performances across lead roles in independent and studio films. A multi-year Meisner grad of the reputable Baron Brown Studio - School for the Dramatic Arts in Santa Monica, and the Margie Haber Studio in West Hollywood, CA, he's proven the rare ability to play both hero or rogue, bringing unique choices to character and attributes to craft:

Jordan earned an Outstanding Lead Actor nomination at Madrid International Film Festival. He earned a Best Actor nomination at Swedish International Film Festival. He is a prior Forty Under 40 recipient. He is a citizen of the USA, Canada, and European Union, allowing for international opportunities across his acting and filmmaking.

A multi-hyphenate creative, Jordan complements his acting with other production roles as a screenwriter and producer. His first original feature film screenplay was a quarterfinalist at Creative Screenwriting's Expo Competition. His recent original feature film screenplay, Checkmate For A Butterfly, tackles the prescient migrant and asylum crises. The screenplay was a semi-finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Competition, and is now out for financing and development.

Roles in upcoming films continue his advance on notable projects. Jordan is currently acting in, writing, and producing an original crime saga called Brothers in Arms, which is now contemplating feature film development and inviting co-production. The project's initial short film won the Best Film Award at LANNEFF, and was nominated for Best Short Film and Best Original Screenplay at Madrid International Film Festival. This followed a Best Cinematography Award and Best Short Film nomination at Swedish International Film Festival.

Jordan operates a production company, Annabill Artist Productions, where he collaborates alongside other filmmakers to develop feature film content. Drawing upon his family's immigrant heritage, he vies for minorities, women, and multinationals, to contribute to key leadership positions across crew departments.

A strong advocate of building community inside the profession and out, Jordan is active in industry advocacy for the arts, Screen Actors Guild Foundation programs, and has served on boards for environmental/sustainability causes. He is a long-standing SAG-AFTRA actor, and a member of Actors' Equity for stage acting.
