Biography

With a strong passion for storytelling, Annette studied filmmaking in Singapore's Nanyang Technical University's School of Art, Design & Media, where she wrote and directed several award-winning short films that have been screened at various film festivals.

One of her student short films, Graduation, represented Singapore at the Hongkong International Mobile Film Awards, and won Best Art Direction at the Singapore Short Film Awards. It also earned a Best Screenplay nomination at the National Youth Film Awards, while her thesis film, Keep Mum, earned her a Best Director nomination.

Annette has since created viral comedy videos on social media, as well as various webseries, such as the heartwarming comedy series Asian Billionaires which she wrote, directed and starred in. She also co-created the unique comedy music video series called The Ann & Ben show, best known for The Cai Fan Song.

With her upcoming debut film Dream Stall (2026), Annette hopes to tell an authentic story about the modern Singaporean dream.
