  • Grant MacAllister is an award-winning Cinematographer based in Los Angeles who specializes in narrative film. He earned his Bachelor's degree in cinematography from Columbia College Chicago in 2012 and upon graduating immediately began working in the camera department on TV shows and feature films, working on such productions as HBO's "Icebox" and "Wander Darkly," Netflix's "Dolemite Is My Name" and "Longmire," ABC's "The Brave," Jerry Bruckheimer's "12 Strong," and Hulu's "T@gged" Amazon's "Them," and 2022's OSCAR® Academy Award nominated short film "Please Hold," among others.

    After moving to Los Angeles in 2018, Grant has been the Director of Photography of several award winning films, including John Strucel's "Cruel Perfection," Jim Morrison's "Spilt Milk," Alexander Bruckner's "The Passenger," which has been awarded for Best Cinematography at over half a dozen festivals and has screened at over 100 festivals worldwide, winning over 70 combined awards and counting. Most recently, Grant was the Director of Photography for Sam Quinn/ Ninety90 Pictures Television Pilot "Die Pretty," which has been awarded Best TV Pilot at Indie Short Fest and Vancouver Independent Film Festival

    Grant has worked with brands like Gibson Guitars, Epiphone, Mesa Boogie, Snapchat, Honda, Tastemade, Pinterest, Starbucks, The Home Depot, Amazon, and more.

    Grant is a Camera Operator in the International Cinematographers Guild IATSE Local 600 and a member of the American Society of Cinematographer's Vision Mentorship program, apprenticed under acclaimed cinematographer Armando Salas (Terminal List, The Old Man, Ozark, Strange Angel).
